Happy Halloween!)
Better late than never. lol. Just barely got this out. Hope everyone's gearing up for a great Halloween! I found some fun stuff--some trivia, and a few games. Just click the Halloween link above, or on the creeping skeleton below. rofl. And if you have any good holiday photos--please share them. :D
This newsletter is getting to be a quarterly rather than a monthly. It's all good, though. It's not like the site goes away between updates. Of course, updates are few and far between anyway. I mean, without updates from everyone, it's basically me yapping once a month. What's the purpose of that? Come on, people! Let me know what's going on in your lives! Send some pictures!
I've had a busy couple of months. Just started a new job about a month and a half ago. Attended a writers' conference in Philadelphia with another writer friend from Buffalo. We had a blast, even though I was all stressed out. The upside is that I got a paid critique from a writer who is multi-published and had one of her books filmed by Disney studios. After reading the first chapter, she asked to read more. On my critique from her, she wrote "This is professional writing." I emailed the manuscript to her, and I'm hoping she likes what she sees. Some writers are in a position to make recommendations. If nothing else, maybe she can tell me what's wrong with it.
My friend got struck by lightning twice--both an agent and an editor requested partials and proposals from her. I expect to see her name on the cover of a book real soon.
I had intended to get this out at least a week ago, and hit a snag. A friend of mine's father just passed away and I was trying to get a memorial page set up for him on the site. Please don't forget to check out the memorial page on this site. There are now five memorials. Please don't forget this part of the site if a loved one passes away. It is a nice, respectful way to remember them. Again, the memorial page has been opened to non-Caettas. If a person was significant in your life, that's enough to be included.
And just a bit of information: if you're seeing an error icon (yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the center) in the lower left of your screen, it's only because I've disabled a java script on this page. That's so that the eggs stop flying around, but so that the code stays on the page and I don't have to keep reinstalling it on the holidays when I need it.
And finally, something totally ridiculous. This is literally a 'church signs' debate, being played out in grand ridiculous fashion where else but in a southern US town, between Our Lady of Martyrs Catholic Church and Cumberland Presbyterian--a fundamentalist church. From top to bottom, the pictures show you the response and counter-response over time. The Catholics are displaying a much better sense of humor. You get the impression that the Presbyterians are actually taking this seriously and are getting a bit upset.
Now, to be honest, this is most likely doctored by someone who thought themselves clever and just wanted something that would get forwarded in emails. I mean, those same two cars on the left, the red one and the white one at the catholic church, are parked the same way in the same spots from sign to sign to sign, even though this was supposed to have been a sign war over at least several days. Suspicious much? Who cares. I like it anyway. It's funny, and I like all things funny.
If this sign war actually took place, what a bunch of humorless bastards! I mean, not all Presbyterians, but certainly the ones who attend Cumberland Presbyterian fundamentalist church. I don't know about you all, but I'm beginning to associate the word 'fundamentalist' with any group of people who have gotten together and decided they know every damn thing. Check it out. rofl.
They compared dogs to rocks??? Here's a news bulletin: rocks aren't alive. Dogs are.
I've taken to comparing fundamentalists to rocks. Can't argue with the logic there.
Until next time. Be in touch everyone!
It's Good Friday! Hope everyone's got big plans for Easter this year. Remember, if you have a special family gathering, please share pictures with everyone. You can email them to me at caetta family newsletter at yahoo dot com (no spaces, and format like standard email.) Me and Jimmy are having ham this year, thanx to a huge sale. I picked up three of them. They'll last us a while. The menu's on the Easter page as well--I want to try the Colcannon this year. That looks too yummy. Just click on the Happy Easter eggs picture above to see the page! Check it out. :D
I know it's been a while. I've been buried. Hope everyone has a fantastic St Patrick's Day! And if any of you have any pictures or news to share, don't forget to email me!
Merry Christmas everyone!! We're staring down the barrel of 2009--how do you like the imagery there? rofl! Mmkay, hope this year's better than the last for everybody. And now, the cats...
Also, Uncle John has sent in a picture. John and Pat are still in Florida and will be back to Ohio on the 22nd. They had stones made for the meditation area of their church, Our Lady of Guadalupe in Macedonia. :) I have also added this picture to Grandma and Grampa's memorial pages:
Mmkay, this works the same as last year. Click on the
CHRISTMAS 08 link above. The menu is still there from last year since there was no need to change any of it--I found some really great recipes last year. If you have any favorite holiday recipes, feel free to share them. :) Pictures as well. There's also another link appearing above. I was able to take my first vacation in over 20 years and attended a
Monk event at the Paley Center in California. I have all the pictures up for those of you who love the show as much as I do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!
Yes, it's been a while. I apologize for that. It's been one thing after another. The Thanksgiving page has been updated for this year. Hopefully I can get the Christmas edition done a lot sooner. Pray for me. I'm on my last good nerve. lol. Also, I encourage everyone to snap a picture or two this year during your family feast and email them--it will be a lovely way to share with the rest of the family! Have a great Thanksgiving this year, everyone!
Oddities regarding the month of August appear below, and there are a couple new pictures in the Family Photo Gallery.
First, Teresa sent in two new pictures of Taliesin! Isn't he adorable!!
Besides the whole "Back to School" thing and the fact that this is pretty much the last month of summer, not a whole lot goes on in August. I really had to search for stuff.
I discovered August is the Admit You're Happy Month, Family Fun Month, National Catfish Month, National Eye Exam Month, National Golf Month, and National Picnic Month. Go figure.
I also found some really obscure holidays, one for each day of August. I got a laugh over some of these. And it definitely looks like a lot of these are just

As always, send in your pictures!
Happy 4th of July!!
I hope you all have a big day of barbecuing and fireworks planned! Me and Jimmy may go to fireworks in the evening with friends, but we'll be relaxing for most of the day up until then. I didn't get any news or new pictures for the site. Hope everyone's doing great. If you take any pictures during the holiday, be sure to share them in here! Please check out the calendar if you get a chance and let me know if I need to add anything or change anything. :D July's a big month for me because the new season of
Monk begins on the 18th and I'm hopelessly addicted to that show. Beyond that, I'm on chapter 8 of a children's book I'm working on. I'd love to see it in print someday, but for now, I'm just having fun writing. Let me know what's going on in your lives--anything you'd like to share with everyone. Hope to have lots of new things to post in August. Drop me a line! :D

It's warming up nicely and time to start fishing!! Sorry for the stall with the site but it's been a very long time since I've gotten any news or updates or pictures--if you've got any, shoot 'em out to me. I like to see new stuff on the site. I couldn't make the Easter page happen before the holiday came and went, which is very unfortunate. Sometimes I feel like I'm living in the middle of a tornado. rofl. I updated the Calendar page, including Rob's daughter Sheila's birthdate which she emailed to me. Unfortunately, she didn't tell me how old she is so I'm waiting on further information. :D If you see that a birthday, anniversary, or other important date is missing or incorrect, please let me know--email me so I can add it to the calendar. I updated the In Memoriam page so that people who aren't necessarily Caettas can still get memorials there. If someone you loved, admired, or respected has passed on, you can request a page for them. I added one, and would also like to add one for a friend's mother that I used to hang out with. I'll be doing that this week. This is your website--it only works if you contribute. It only stays fresh and new if you send in information, updates, pictures, etc. In the meantime, let me know what's going on.
Here's a new add: Theresa Neumayer (Caetta) has submitted her new website. She making and selling lip balms and other items. Check out her site,
Faery's Kiss! :D
This is a picture of me. Like my slippers? I am soooooooooooooooooo tired. lol! The Christmas page is finished--hope you all like it! Of course there are a ton of holiday recipes. A couple were keepers from Thanksgiving but only because they're good for both meals. A few holiday cookie recipes and egg nog recipes as well, and main course choices of Turkey, Ham, and Prime Rib. Hope you see something you like. :D On to the
Christmas page!

I've found it's very very difficult to update a website while working three jobs. I'm pushing as hard as I can to get this in before Thanksgiving--if you're reading this, maybe I made it. I am doing the
Thanksgiving page a little different than some other holiday pages where I included recipes. I try to get all my recipes off of
Allrecipes.com because they have a function on their pages that allow you to print the recipes without any ads and so that they come out in recipe card size. Handy little function. If you see a picture you like, just click the link for the recipe and it'll open up on their site. I liked transferring the recipes to our website but then you had no control over how to print them up and of course, you'd get everything instead of just the recipe. Below each recipe, you also get comments and ratings from people all over who have tried the recipe. Handy as well.
I also added a page for Adam Caetta, who recently served a tour with the Marines in Fallujah. During his year there, he sent me numerous pictures and I put all his emails into a separate folder to save them. Once this site went to a regular domain and I no longer had to worry about file size, I just had to share them with everyone. You can see his page at the
ADAM link above.
If you haven't already done so, you may want to visit Grandma and Grampa's memorial pages again. With the new storage limits, I was able to add sound files to both. If you're still on dial-up, it will take a while to load but I think it's well worth it. I am a huge Louis Armstrong fanatic and hand-picked each song for them. If you have anything you'd like to contribute to either of their memorials or to any page on our site, just send me an email and I'll add it. The email is "caetta family newsletter at yahoo dot com." No spaces, and use the ampersand symbol for "at" like a regular email. If I write it all out like that, spam bots will still spider the site but won't be able to harvest the email address--the bots can't pick it up.
It's coming along slowly. For now, check out the
Thanksgiving page. Hopefully you find some yummy somethings there. :D
If you're in here peeking, I'm still transferring everything over. As you go from page to page, you may notice that you're sometimes on the old site and sometimes on the new site. At some point, once all the links and pages and files are transferred over, the old site will be deleted. At the very least, you'll notice all the banners, popups, and other annoyances are gone. It's our site, part and parcel. Ads are gone.
I spent most of the last couple days downloading pictures and other files but I was finally able to get the audio files embedded into Grandma and Grandpa's memorial pages. I love not having to keep backing out to the Account Manager every time I downloaded a picture to see how much storage I had left. Yep. Love that. Love that a lot. :D
Uncle John's adorable in Grandpa's snazzy shirt!
On another note, to keep up with anniversaries, births, birthdates, holidays, etc., make sure to always check the
Calendar. I do want to note here all the anniversaries in the past month: Danny and Kathy, Chris and Debbi, Judy and Carl, and John and Pat. Congratulations everyone! Caetta marriages last a long time! And Uncle Chris just turned 53!
