I sold my van and was able to attend what will be the last Monk event at the Paley Center in California. It has been announced that season 8 will be the last season of this show and I'm a fanatic. That means there will be the balance of season 7 beginning in January (9th, I believe) and then another full season after that, beginning this coming summer. That will be it.
I haven't taken a trip or vacation in about 20 years--I hate traveling....all the packing and picture-taking and hotels, etc. I hate it. In addition, I haven't flown since I was in the army. Flying is definitely not my favorite thing. I was able to stay with a friend for 3 nights out there, and only had to stay at a hotel one night while I was there, plus another night once I got back (I screwed up my itinerary--don't ask. rofl). The event was held on December 2nd and I had a blast.
I took a few photos, but the pictures appearing below were taken by others in my group. There were nine of us--a few of us had cheap cameras and one woman had battery issues--between the nine of us though, we all swapped and were able to have a decent collection. One woman actually ran into Ted Levine in a Thai restaurant afterward and got two more pictures. My pictures will be added soon. I need to resize them--they're huge. Also, I took them with a new camera bought just for this trip, and that camera was under the impression that it was January 1st. Um... lol. As soon as I get those edited, I'll post them. Let's see if I can get this right--I know the actors but the producers and writers may be reversed here. That's Randy Zisk to the far left (I hope.) Then you have Ted Levine, center, who plays Captain Leland Stottlemeyer, for those of you who still don't watch the show (shame on you!) Then you have Jason Gray Stanford getting miked--he plays Barney Fife to Levine's Andy Taylor. rofl. He plays Lieutenant Randy Disher (Randy Decker in the pilot episode--they added him as a regular and changed the character's name.) The delightful chocolate fellow doing the miking is someone who works with Paley or is some other hired assistant. I do not know his name, or whether he is associated with the show in any other capacity.

Finally David Hoberman makes it into the shot. He's seated far left. As I said before, I hope I'm not getting him mixed up with Randy Zisk. Andy Breckman credits Hoberman with being a co-creator of the show.
I believe this is Randy Zisk, Tony Shalhoub, and David Hoberman. Tony, center, is the only one I'm sure of.
